November 21, 2024 Charity Events by the Friends of LNAA Foundation in the USA and Canada Supporting LNAA Over the past few months, representatives of our foundation participated in several significant events in North America aimed at supporting the Lviv National Academy of Arts (LNAA) and fostering collaboration with the Ukrainian diaspora. Seattle, Washington At the invitation of Father Andrii Oliinyk, a charity event was held at the Parish of Our Lady of Zarvanytsia. The event successfully raised awareness among the local community about our educational initiatives. Olympia, Washington At the invitation of Father Daniel, we hosted a six-day Iconography School at St. George’s Church. The program included a lecture on the history of Ukrainian icons and a hands-on workshop on creating replicas of ancient Ukrainian icons. This initiative deepened the understanding of Ukrainian culture and strengthened ties with the local community. Canada, New Westminster During the festival celebrating the 50th anniversary of the parish, the foundation’s president and members held several meetings with the Ukrainian diaspora, including a discussion with the head of the Ukrainian Association of Washington State, Liliya Kovalenko. These meetings paved the way for new partnerships and avenues of support. Thanks to the generous contributions, 192,465 UAH was raised for LNAA’s scholarship program, creating new opportunities for talented students. These journeys marked a step toward uniting Ukrainian culture and art globally and were an important milestone in the development of our academy.   A heartfelt thank you to our partners and benefactors: , and the community!

November 20, 2024 Charity Exhibition «Sacred Art in Contemporary Ukraine» On December 4, the city of Seattle, Washington, will host the opening of the exhibition «Sacred Art in Contemporary Ukraine», featuring works by instructors and alumni of the Lviv National Academy of Arts (LNAA). The exhibition will present a blend of replicas of renowned Ukrainian icons and contemporary creations. The artists reinterpret tradition, explore new forms, and investigate the transformation of Christian iconography in the modern world. This exhibition is a collaborative charity project by the Lviv National Academy of Arts, the Friends of LNAA Foundation, the Radruzh Iconography School, the A/NT Gallery, and the Ukrainian Association of Washington State. All proceeds from the exhibition will be directed to the Friends of LNAA Foundation to support students of the Academy. The exhibition will be open until December 27 at the A/NT Gallery. Let’s unite to support Ukrainian culture and its contemporary voice!

August 31, 2024 Get Ready! The LNAA Student Scholarship Program Is Starting Soon! Friends, we are excited to announce that the Friends of LNAA is launching the Fall Scholarship Program for LNAA students! The program begins on September 2, 2024.  Starting on this day, a Google form for submitting applications will be available, which you can fill out and submit within two weeks. Don’t miss your chance if you need support! Follow our updates to learn more about the program and participation requirements.

July 4, 2024 English Summer Camp at LNAA These days, our English Summer Camp has kicked off, made possible thanks to three extraordinary individuals: Svitlana Blinova, who came up with this format; Uliana Shchurko, who embraced the wonderful idea; and, of course, our incredible friend — American volunteer and native speaker Michael Radigan! Michael’s dedication and commitment to high values always inspire our entire team. Throughout the academic year, Michael comes to the Academy and teaches English to our students and faculty. Now, during the summer break, he has agreed to run the English Summer Camp for everyone wishing to improve their language skills. Michael’s lessons are always interesting and dynamic — from captivating stories about life in Alaska, where his brother lives, to deep dives into grammar and other aspects of the language. Michael often supports our talented students, volunteers for the Foundation, and always asks how he can further help. A simple American with a big heart — that’s how we can describe Michael.   We are immensely grateful to him for supporting all our initiatives. Thank you for your self-sacrifice and dedication to your work; it is the most valuable to us.

July 2, 2024 KRAM at LNAA Took Place! This past weekend, we held another KRAM at LNAA – an event that brings experience and vibrancy to the student life at the Academy. This event allows us to see how our talented students bring their creative ideas to life. At this market, students have the opportunity not only to showcase their work but also to experience the atmosphere of a real trading process. They rent tables from the organizers and spend two days selling their artworks. This allows them to learn to evaluate their creative work, navigate pricing, and present their products. Students often cooperate and share a table among three, making the market even more cohesive and friendly. Additionally, our charitable foundation has a table at the market where everyone can support our talented students by purchasing their works or LNAA merchandise. All the proceeds go towards helping our scholarship recipients, making each buyer a part of this incredibly important mission. Here, you can find many bold and creative items at very affordable prices. The atmosphere at the market is always very friendly and heartwarming. Visitors often tell us that KRAM resembles a real European flea market. After the market, students exchange their works and gift each other stickers, which looks very sweet and cheerful.   We invite you to the next KRAM at LNAA, which will take place in winter!   Come and find unique and impressive items that will bring you joy and the feeling that you are supporting the talents of the future! Involvement of Alumni and Students in Alumni Meeting 2.0 Last year’s alumni reunion was joyous not only because of the warm reunions with friends but also due to the fulfillment of our charitable goal: raising funds for scholarships for Academy students. We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support this initiative received. Alumna of graphic design, Khrystyna Zaiats, along with Oksana Lobas-Zaiats, contributed a series of festive postcards created before Easter. This series continues to grow throughout the year, showcasing artistic interpretations of traditional holidays and biblical motifs. We were also delighted by the beautiful postcards created by students from the Department of Graphic Design. They made these postcards under the guidance of their instructor, Yoncha Savenyuk, and donated them to the Fund. Such gestures inspire and energize our team. The event was actively supported by some of the Friends of LNAA scholarship recipients, who brightened the day with their presence and eagerly responded to any request for help. They assisted with registration, sold merchandise, and brought joy to everyone with their smiles. We thank everyone for your support and invite you to join the Fund’s projects!
