December 15, 2024 Art Auction of Contemporary Works by Friends of Lviv National Academy of Arts On December 13, a Charity Auction of Contemporary Art was held at the Astoria Hotel Lviv.The auction featured 39 works by renowned artists, including alumni and professors of the Lviv National Academy of Arts.The event aimed to support the art therapy program jointly initiated by the Academy, the Friends of LNAA Charity Fund, and doctors from the Unbroken Rehabilitation Center for veterans and civilians undergoing rehabilitation.In the Academy’s workshops, patients work with clay, leather, textiles, as well as delve into jewelry and sacred art. This creative process helps them overcome psychological challenges, restore inner balance, and discover new meanings. The Lviv National Academy of Arts and the Friends of LNAA Charity Fund are committed to expanding the art therapy program and making the Academy accessible to all. We are gradually removing barriers by installing ramps, elevators, and reconstructing doorways and restrooms. Our goal is to create an inclusive space where everyone can work, create, and study comfortably.Together with the Friends of LNAA, the Academy is breaking barriers and unlocking new opportunities for healing through art. December 10, 2024 Charity Auction «Rány a šepot» at AVU Gallery in Prague On December 5, 2024, the AVU Gallery at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague hosted the charity auction «Rány a šepot» The event showcased works by students, faculty, and alumni of the Lviv National Academy of Arts, including pieces created in the departments of artistic ceramics and artistic wood. The artworks, made from fragments of weapons, ceramics, and wood, symbolized the transformation of destruction into art. The auction attracted numerous attendees, including representatives of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, the Ukrainian Consulate in the Czech Republic, and honorable guests who supported the initiative. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, especially Maria Topolčanská, Vit Havranek, and Anna Hrabáková, for providing the platform and their unwavering support. Special thanks go to the organizer Tereza Engelová for her dedication and energy, as well as the hosts Adéla Elbelová and Jigi Madl for their professionalism and for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This project once again proves that art has the power to unite and bring hope, even in the most challenging times.

December 5, 2024 KRAM at LNAM: Charity Exhibition-Sale Winter is coming, which means it’s time for our winter fair — KRAM at LNAM!  The fair will feature unique creations in metal, glass, and wood, along with ceramics, textiles, paintings, and graphics, all crafted by the talented students of the Lviv National Academy of Arts.   Bring your friends and family to CRAFT at LNAM, pick out one-of-a-kind holiday gifts and New Year’s decorations, and soak up the festive spirit to last you the entire winter season. December 3, 2024 Certificate Awarding Ceremony of the Friends of LNAM Scholarship Program On November 29, a special event took place in the White Hall, located in the shelter of LNAM — the awarding of certificates to the participants of the scholarship program. This was a day filled with warmth, joy, and smiles for our entire team.   For several months, we worked closely with benefactors to support the talented students of the Academy. From submitting applications and conducting interviews to finding donors — every step was a crucial part of the journey to this moment. Thanks to the generosity of our partners, 27 students received financial support this semester. These scholarships will cover tuition costs and part of their living expenses, allowing young artists to focus on their creativity without worrying about financial challenges.   On this day, the certificates were presented by the Rector of the Academy, Vasyl Kosiv, and the co-founder of the fund, Viktoria Shatkovska. Their inspiring speeches offered encouragement to the students, motivating each one to continue their artistic journey.   We were deeply moved by the reactions of the scholarship recipients: genuine smiles, tears of joy, and heartfelt gratitude. These are the moments that remind us why we do what we do.   The certificate awarding ceremony was not just an official event but also a testament to our shared mission — to create opportunities for young talents and provide unwavering support on their creative paths.

December 1, 2024 27 students received charitable support through the Scholarship Program The Scholarship Program takes place twice a year. This fall semester, the Friends of LNAA supported 27 students, raising 459,377.93 UAH.   This support was made possible thanks to the collective efforts of many individuals and organizations. Friends of LNAA gathered funds with the help of charitable foundations, private donors, and Ukrainian diaspora communities in the USA and Canada. A portion of the total was raised through joint charitable initiatives.   Every contribution — large or small — is more than financial support; it is an investment in the future of young artists. These funds help students focus on their studies and creativity, leaving financial challenges behind.   We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to this vital cause! Through the combined efforts of the Foundation and the Academy, we continue to support talented youth and make a positive impact on their lives.

November 21, 2024 Charity Events by the Friends of LNAA Foundation in the USA and Canada Supporting LNAA Over the past few months, representatives of our foundation participated in several significant events in North America aimed at supporting the Lviv National Academy of Arts (LNAA) and fostering collaboration with the Ukrainian diaspora. Seattle, Washington At the invitation of Father Andrii Oliinyk, a charity event was held at the Parish of Our Lady of Zarvanytsia. The event successfully raised awareness among the local community about our educational initiatives. Olympia, Washington At the invitation of Father Daniel, we hosted a six-day Iconography School at St. George’s Church. The program included a lecture on the history of Ukrainian icons and a hands-on workshop on creating replicas of ancient Ukrainian icons. This initiative deepened the understanding of Ukrainian culture and strengthened ties with the local community. Canada, New Westminster During the festival celebrating the 50th anniversary of the parish, the foundation’s president and members held several meetings with the Ukrainian diaspora, including a discussion with the head of the Ukrainian Association of Washington State, Liliya Kovalenko. These meetings paved the way for new partnerships and avenues of support. Thanks to the generous contributions, 192,465 UAH was raised for LNAA’s scholarship program, creating new opportunities for talented students. These journeys marked a step toward uniting Ukrainian culture and art globally and were an important milestone in the development of our academy.   A heartfelt thank you to our partners and benefactors: , and the community!

November 20, 2024 Charity Exhibition «Sacred Art in Contemporary Ukraine» On December 4, the city of Seattle, Washington, will host the opening of the exhibition «Sacred Art in Contemporary Ukraine», featuring works by instructors and alumni of the Lviv National Academy of Arts (LNAA). The exhibition will present a blend of replicas of renowned Ukrainian icons and contemporary creations. The artists reinterpret tradition, explore new forms, and investigate the transformation of Christian iconography in the modern world. This exhibition is a collaborative charity project by the Lviv National Academy of Arts, the Friends of LNAA Foundation, the Radruzh Iconography School, the A/NT Gallery, and the Ukrainian Association of Washington State. All proceeds from the exhibition will be directed to the Friends of LNAA Foundation to support students of the Academy. The exhibition will be open until December 27 at the A/NT Gallery. Let’s unite to support Ukrainian culture and its contemporary voice!

August 31, 2024 Get Ready! The LNAA Student Scholarship Program Is Starting Soon! Friends, we are excited to announce that the Friends of LNAA is launching the Fall Scholarship Program for LNAA students! The program begins on September 2, 2024.  Starting on this day, a Google form for submitting applications will be available, which you can fill out and submit within two weeks.
