Charitable Icon Painting Plein Air «Resurrection and Ukraine»

March 5, 2024 Charitable Icon Painting Plein Air «Resurrection and Ukraine» On March 5, the second charitable icon painting plein air «Resurrection and Ukraine» commenced, organized by the Department of Sacred Art of the Lviv National Academy of Arts with the support of the Charitable Fundarion «Friends of the Lviv National Academy of Arts.» The idea behind the plein air is to bring together alumni, professors, and students of the Academy to draw attention to events in Ukraine and support the Academy’s activities. The plein air will take place from March 5 to March 9 at the Department of Sacred Art and in the monastery of the Basilian Sisters in the village of Berehy. The concept of the plein air is quite broad – through the theme of the Resurrection of Christ, it aims to convey the idea of the triumph of good over evil, the idea of the Resurrection of Ukraine, which is going through the darkness of trials, and the idea of the resurrection of the righteous, martyrs, and all the saints of the Church. Among them, we include our heroes who gave their lives for the freedom of Ukraine — those who are part of the righteous of the Church of Christ and those who have become so in our hearts.

Friends of LNAA at the German-Ukrainian Business Awards Ceremony in Kyiv

February 5, 2024 Friends of LNAA at the German-Ukrainian Business Awards Ceremony in Kyiv Last week, we joined the charitable initiative during the evening celebrating the best Ukrainian and German companies operating in Ukraine. This year, the German-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK Ukraine) organized such a business award for the first time. Event participants had the opportunity to purchase paintings created by teachers and students of the Academy. Along with this, they could contribute to supporting the project of art therapy meetings for Ukraine’s defenders and veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war, which the charity foundation «Friends of LNAA» implements jointly with the rehabilitation center UNBROKEN (UNBROKEN Ukraine). All funds raised from the sale of paintings will be directed towards the creation of an inclusive space for art therapy sessions. In addition, we had the opportunity to communicate and exchange contacts with leading Ukrainian and foreign companies, including Nova Poshta, Bayer, ELEKS, and others. We also shared experiences, talked about our work, and, of course, invited participants to become friends of LNAA. Thank you to AHK Ukraine for the invitation!
