March 24, 2023 Fundraising Training seminar by Colleagues at Ukrainian Catholic University Ukrainian Catholic University representative Natalia Klymovska, the Vice-Rector for Development and Communications, along with her team – Andriy Kurochka and Andriy Khimyak – shared their experience and knowledge of fundraising techniques with Foundation members and leadership team of the Lviv National Academy of Arts. Ukrainian Catholic University has been successful at attracting philanthropic and donor funds and we are grateful for their valuable advice. Oleksiy Cherednychenko, the President of the Charity Foundation “Friends of LNAA” noted that Ukrainian Catholic University not only knows how to raise funds but also how to deliver a seminar.

Exhibition of Industrial Design at LNAA Gallery

March 17, 2023 Exhibition of Industrial Design at LNAA Gallery The LNAA Gallery is hosting an exhibition of student works from the Department of Industrial Design at the Technical University of Brno (Czech Republic), which was organized in collaboration with the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts. It is the first time that we have hosted the works of a leading Czech education institution. The latest improvements in industrial design and development techniques are being exhibited. The exhibition provides a valuable learning experience for our own professionals in this field. The Foundation purchased and donated display frames worth 18,000 UAH to the Lviv National Academy of Arts to facilitate the exhibition.

March 15, 2023 A further 7 Scholarships have been awarded “Friends of LNAA” Charity Foundation wishes to announce that another 7 students will receive financial support to cover their living needs, accommodation and faculty fees. The Scholarship program is a key initiative of the Foundation which was established to help students that have been variously affected as a result of the ongoing war. Renovation of LNAA student dormitory has commenced

March 6, 2023 Renovation of LNAA student dormitory has commenced The renovation work will proceed progressively and includes: creation of a new communal spaces, a new food preparation area and space for meals, new bathroom facilities, electrical rewiring and pipe replacement. The renovation work was made possible by financial assistance from the municipality of Würzburg, Germany, in partnership with the “City Institute”, which together contributed 49,663 Euro (1,974,613 UAH). The Academy is thankful for their significant financial support. Students will have new comfortable spaces for their enjoyment.

Charity art auction held in Krakow

February 13, 2023 Charity art auction held in Krakow Students and staff from the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts, as well as Ukrainian students and faculty refugees contributed their artwork to the auction, which was called “In Yellow and Blue”. The auction raised 8,380.73 Polish zlotys (74,300 UAH) which was received by our Foundation “Friends of LNAA.” The Foundation and our Academy has a long-standing partnership with the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts and we thank them for their support during these challenging times.

Financial help received to improve air raid safety at the Academy

February 9, 2023 Financial help received to improve air raid safety at the Academy Our Swiss partners, the Ernst et Olga Gubler-Hablützel Foundation have provided 5,000 Swiss francs (204,000 UAH) which will be used to renovate LNAA’s air raid shelter. The shelter will assist in the safety of both students and faculty whenever there is an air raid warning, and at other times, will be used as a new educational and exhibition centre for the Academy. We thank our Swiss partners for their generous support.

LNAA announces that it has awarded its first scholarships

January 20, 2023 LNAA announces that it has awarded its first scholarships LNAA has provided scholarships to 23 students of the Academy. The scholarships will provide for the basic living needs, accommodation and tuition of students while they are studying at the Lviv National Academy of Arts. LNAA focussed on those students who had the greatest need for financial assistance due to the war. Some have been orphaned and others displaced. Friends of LNAA Foundation together with the Kozytsky Charitable Fund and philanthropists from Canada, and other donors made the payment of these scholarships possible. Our foundation continues to focus on those students who have the greatest need for assistance to ensure that they receive a quality education. We are grateful to everyone that has contributed to our scholarship program and look forward to continuing our partnership.

Fundraising for the Department of Contemporary Art Practices

December 29, 2022 Fundraising for the Department of Contemporary Art Practices As the year comes to an end, we have an example of successful fundraising and solidarity from the friends of the Department of Contemporary Art Practices at LNAA. The head of the department, Daryna Skrynnik-Myska, and Yaryna Shumska successfully attracted donors who contributed over 2,200 euros (87,000 UAH) for the Charity Foundation “Friends of LNAA”. The donated monies were used in part, to pay for five instructors who taught courses in the recently launched Master’s program in Contemporary Art Practices. Remaining funds were used to pay for media equipment (projector and television), which are used for teaching and showcasing student works. We urge LNAA graduates to get involved in the life of their departments and where possible, contribute financially for a specific need.
